These rusted parts from a 57 Pontiac would normally have had to have been discarded. What started out as junk turned into a fabulous chrome bumper restoration project. Cosmichrome allowed them to be restored to their original beauty. The parts had to be restored as one would do for normal paint. The rust had to be removed, body filler applied, and then a catalyzed primer over the finished body filler. The primer should then be sanded to 1000-1200 grit to get it smooth for the Cosmichrome base coat. Then the normal Cosmichrome process is done to the parts.
“Here are some pics of probably the worst parts we have had come thru the door to date. I attached some before pics and then some after pics of them mounted to the freshly chrome plated bumper on a 57 Pontiac. It’s great to know that by using the Cosmichrome system we are able to save parts that in the past we would have had to throw in the scrap pile. Keep up the GREAT work. Talk to ya soon………..Larry & JR”
How? What did you do to get rid of the rust and fill in the missing rotted areas?
I assume the rusted metal sections were cut off, new metal was welded in and then finished in order to apply the Cosmichrome finish, IS THAT SO?
Does Cosmichrome also adheres to metal surfaces ? To any Surface ?
Thanks for your reply.
Willy
Yes it adheres to metal surfaces. Just about any material that can be painted with a solvent based paint can be coated with Cosmichrome.

How long will it hold in the elements before it dulls or will it??
It won’t dull but it is a paint. It should be cared for like a high end paint job.
